HFO learned today that Dan Collins is in line for a key role at Lotus.

“I spoke to the team at mid-day today” said a clearly delighted Dan. “the specifics of the role are still being discussed but I can tell you it involves being in the car”.

Dan was initially reluctant to reveal more but after a little pushing from us, he offered: “I was a little concerened at first that the role might be a little too demanding for my current fitness regime. The team quickly put my mind to rest however since they have some technology which makes the drivers role much easier”.

Mystery Technology?

Now we were really curious and wanted to know more about this mystery technology and after a couple more drinks, Dan revealed more: “Apparently they have an external power source which is applied at the start. It is powerful enough to get the car to the end of the run!” said Dan.

“The only issue to be resolved is the slowing down process. At the moment, it involves hitting a hard immoveable object head on. The team assures me that after a few runs when they have ironed out this problem and received FIA approval, they will place much less demand on me.”
